Caramel Tarts
Crust
Ingredients- 250g butter
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 tablespoon icing sugar
Rub all of the ingredients together. Press into pie tin. Cook in oven at 180°C until golden brown.
Filling
Ingredients- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- 3 egg yolks
- Almost one 395 gram can condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Melt butter and golden syrup together in a pot. Add egg yolks, condensed milk and sugar. Cook until the mixture bubbles. Cool.
Meringue
Ingredients- 3 egg whites
- 3 tablespoons castor sugar
Beat egg whites and sugar until peaks form.
