Design

Our design philosphy is predicated on the KISS principle. With relatively simple HTML and current (read: 2008) Web standards, pages can be loaded quickly into most web browsers. This should be independent of the internet connection bandwidth available and the speed of your system.

The "new" design is based on cascading style sheets and a modest amount of coding.

While most tinkering is done on a Linux machine and proof read with a Mozilla Firefox browser, attempts are made to check on Unix and Windows systems with different browsers. (Even IE, for those poor people who work with severely limited browser choices)

Note also, things are kept as simple as possible, to the extent that these pages are hand crafted with a text editor: gedit 2.15.9. Nerding it up with vi and command based ftp is the domain of the uber geeks. (However, this is not to put poo on the millions of pages on the internet and intranets that are updated and created daily in this fashion.)

These pages employ the <TITLE>...</TITLE> descriptors, however ridiculous, for the names used for the various links pages. Any deficiencies, or otherwise, are the responsibility of the web administrators and maintainers of these sites: We bear no responsibility whatsoever. We also do not use the Latin "sic" notation, despite all of the English-speaking people around the World who can not spell properly.

As a "by the way", the image used at the top of each page actually means something: If you look deeply and closely into the rock pool photograph, you will see yourself.
Within every rock pool across the Earth there lives the embryonic beginnings of all life. There is no magic, just a life filled pool that can potentially develop into sentient beings. Eventually.
